Pediatric Intensive Therapy, Built Around Your Child

A neuro-intensive is a concentrated block of one-on-one therapy — often a full week — delivered at a much higher frequency than traditional weekly sessions. At Bright Beginnings in Marlton, New Jersey, every intensive is designed from your child's own neuro-evaluation. Individual results vary, and a consultation is always the first step.

What Is Pediatric Intensive Therapy?

Pediatric intensive therapy concentrates many hours of one-on-one therapy into a short window — typically five consecutive days — instead of spreading single weekly sessions across many months. The format is designed to give the brain frequent, closely spaced practice while our team adjusts the work session by session.

Rather than treating one symptom at a time, we use a brain-body approach: we look at how reflexes, sensory processing, vestibular function, and motor systems work together, and target the foundational areas identified in your child's comprehensive neuro-evaluation.

Who May Benefit from an Intensive Therapy Program?

Families come to us with a wide range of diagnoses and concerns, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, sensory processing disorder, developmental delays, cerebral palsy, TBI and concussion, genetic disorders, PANS/PANDAS, and stroke recovery. Many choose an intensive when weekly therapy hasn't produced the progress they hoped for.

An intensive is not automatically the right fit for every child. That's why we start with a free consultation and a comprehensive neuro-evaluation — recommendations are personalized to the child, and we'll tell you honestly what we think.

DMI Level A CertifiedOur team includes a DMI Level A Certified therapist, allowing us to incorporate DMI (Dynamic Movement Intervention) techniques into individualized treatment plans when appropriate. This is not a guarantee of specific results.

How Does an Intensive Work?

  1. Free 15-minute consultation. You share your child's story; we explain how we work and whether an evaluation makes sense.
  2. Comprehensive neuro-evaluation. A whole-child assessment that helps identify the root patterns behind your child's challenges.
  3. Customized intensive plan. A concentrated block of one-on-one sessions built around your child's profile and your family's goals.
  4. Home guidance. You leave with clear guidance — and for many families, a Home Intensive Program — so progress can continue after the week ends.

What Can Families Expect During the Week?

Sessions are one-on-one in our calm, sensory-friendly Marlton clinic, which includes a gross-motor gym, a sensory room, and dedicated treatment spaces. Depending on your child's plan, sessions may include reflex integration, sensory and vestibular work, eye-tracking and motor-timing exercises, and low-level laser therapy. Parents are partners throughout — you'll know what we're working on and why.

Traveling in for the week? Many families do. We help you plan, and we set up a workstation in the clinic so you can work remotely between sessions. See Travel to Us.

Intensive Therapy FAQs

How long is an intensive?
Most intensives run five consecutive days, with multiple one-on-one sessions each day. The exact structure is set by your child's plan, and some families return for additional intensives over time.
How is this different from weekly therapy?
Weekly therapy spreads practice thin — an hour, then a week off. An intensive concentrates that practice so the brain gets frequent, closely spaced repetition while our team adjusts the plan daily. Many families choose this format when weekly sessions haven't produced the progress they hoped for.
What happens before the intensive starts?
Every intensive begins with a free phone consultation followed by a comprehensive neuro-evaluation. The evaluation is required — it's what makes the plan individualized rather than generic.
Will my child be overwhelmed by a full week?
Our clinic is deliberately calm and sensory-friendly, and sessions are paced to your child. Helping children feel regulated and supported is part of the plan — a dysregulated child can't learn well, so we never push past what a child can handle.
What does an intensive cost?
Pricing depends on your child's plan, so we discuss it at your consultation. We offer pay-as-you-go plans, CareCredit financing, HSA/FSA eligibility, and superbills — see Payment & Financing.
